Building economically empowered neighborhoods.
Bear Down Community Investment Group is an Illinois-based 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to expanding mixed-use development and creating skilled workforce opportunities across Chicagoland communities.

Established from a track record of results.
Bear Down was established from the success of McField & Associates, Inc., led by President and CEO Seretha McField-Gibbs. With a vision rooted in equity, innovation, and community partnership, we work to build economically empowered neighborhoods across the greater Chicagoland area and throughout the nation.
We exist to address systemic challenges that limit economic opportunity, starting with the communities most impacted — through strategic investment, workforce development, and community partnerships that create pathways for sustainable growth, ownership, and long-term prosperity.
To collaborate with community stakeholders, policymakers, financial institutions, and trade industries to serve as a catalyst for community development and skills training.
A future where communities have access to mixed-use development, expanded skilled workforce opportunities, and sustainable employment pathways to vibrant and economically secure neighborhoods.
Six principles guide every project we touch.
Equity
Closing opportunity gaps where they've been widest.
Community
Local voices set the agenda for local investment.
Opportunity
Pathways into ownership, trades, and enterprise.
Collaboration
Partnerships across labor, capital, and government.
Integrity
Transparent stewardship of every dollar and project.
Sustainability
Building neighborhoods that hold their value.
